The preparation, execution (incl. concrete examples) and follow-up of surgical procedures also form part of the content. The content also covers the basic principles of handling equipment and suturing material as well as hygiene measures in surgical procedures and a summary of wound healing.
The learning unit is to be seen as a task-specific supplementary module and is subject to qualification for activity A (conducting procedures in animals) or B (designing procedures and projects) according to EU recommendations.
The learning unit is in the context of comprehensive training in animal experiments, including a practical part that is usually carried out by the employer / course organizer concerned and is open only to participants for whom the practical training is guaranteed.
